Where your audience is reachable, and how they prefer to engage, usually narrows the choice quickly. Mixed-mode designs can widen coverage when a single mode would leave gaps.
Balance speed, cost and depth
Online is fast and scalable; phone reaches audiences that are hard to find online; face-to-face supports depth and complex stimuli. Many studies benefit from a blend.
